One of the most important holidays of modern history is the Victory Day in the Second World War, or, as it is called the Great Patriotic War. This day is celebrated on May 9, the day after the anniversary of the official surrender of Germany.

The traditions of this holiday go back to 1945 when the soldiers-winners passed through the main square of the then USSR country Red Square in Moscow. Since then, Victory Parades have been held in the main squares of every city in Ukraine.

Usually, in the first half of the day, flowers are placed on the monuments to soldiers-liberators, common graves, and monuments, which are to every town and village. Every year, there are fewer and fewer witnesses to this war, but the memory of the heroism of our ancestors who shed their blood on the battlefields that protected our land from the fascist invaders.

It was on this day that on the streets of cities and villages one can see veterans, decorated with medals, military equipment from the times of the Second World War and people dressed in the military uniform of that time. Museums associated with the war are working on this day, presenting thematic expositions to the attention of guests.
